Vegetation around sign was trimmed.

Only two of the three issues have been addressed.

Done - The Yield sign at the traffic circle is covered by vegetation.

Done - There are no pedestrian crossing signs.

Not Started - The design of the traffic circle for motorists driving southeast on Moore's Mill road does not force the driver to slow and many "almost" accidents have occurred between those cars who do not have right of way and cars coming from Southhampton Road also trying to go southeast on Moores Mill road who do have right of way.

It is how the road is designed.... I can report it to the Sheriff's office for speed enforcement.

My comment is that the roundabout "is designed" poorly. It might take an engineering firm to improve the design, and construction money to fix it, but it is more than just a speed enforcement issue. In fact the Maryland State Highway Administration Roundabout Design Guidelines the states Entry angles (phi) should be between 20 and 40 degrees with 30 degrees desired (derived from the WisDOT Roundabout Guide) https://www.roads.maryland.gov/OHD2/MDSHA_Roundabout_Guidelines.pdf

Kristina - your comment "It was designed within the right-of-way constraints available" does not mean it is safe. I cite that the traffic circle is not safe, and does not meet the state roundabout design criteria. I would not be happy if there are more "almost accidents" with that roundabout. The solution is to do an engineering study to see if there are ways to make the roundabout safer for our residents.

I spoke with Mr. Stratmeyer and he stated he will look into the area again. That is all I ask and I appreciate this forum for dialogue.

It is also interesting that the Harford County Road Code (Dec 2008) states - Roundabout design shall be in accordance with the Maryland State Highway Roundabout Design Manual. "Shall" not may.

Updated per DPW Chief Engineer:
Signs were relocated, skips at the yield line were added along with additional delineators and the vegetation was trimmed back.
