Jane,
Thank you. We met with an engineer this week to install a dam diversion device in the coming weeks.
Beavers actually have an internal homing device and if we tried to relocate them, they would return to the area and start a new dam.
We used the diversion device at Copenhaver park and it proved very effective.

Thank you for the information on the beavers. I do believe someone from Parks and Rec need to see the extensive flooding . I understand that the Army of Engineers need to get involved as they have jurisdiction on all waterways. There are more than one dam as you will see when you visit the area. Thanks again and here’s hoping action happens before we lose any trees.

Jane,
A quick update on this item. There are actually 2 dams, one upstream from the Ma & Pa Trail and one downstream from the Ma & Pa Trail. Their recommendation is to put a dam diversion device on the dam that is downstream from the Ma & Pa Trail first and then once that area is better, then put one on the dam upstream from the trail. Their concern is if they do both dams at the same time, it will not be as effective and the beavers may continue to build up the downstream dam.
Thank you
Paul
